BATHROOM REMODELING

Luxurious and Be

At MHI we understand bathrooms. Creating or renovating a master bathroom into a heavenly spa oasis adds to the value of your home and provides a relaxing retreat to soak away the stress of daily living. Taking extra time in the planning will ensure that once completed, that dreamy master bath oasis will be exactly as envisioned and serve you well for many years to come. Aside from the aesthetic beauty of a newly remodeled master bathroom, and the daily pleasure obtained from using it, it will add immense house value upon resale.

MHI knows that the "Difference is the Details". Because of this it is one of the most complicated rooms to design. With our years of experience, MHI can help you create the custom bath of which you've always dreamed.

Bathroom Design, Remodeling and Renovation

Knowing How You Will Use the Space Helps Our Designers Improve Functionality
  • Who will use it? Is it a master bath for you alone, you and your mate, or should it accommodate the whole family? Is it a space for guests or children? Will someone with limited mobility use it now or in the future?
  • Is individual space needed? Do you require one sink or two? Should dual sinks be completely separate or side-by-side? Are two medicine cabinets better than one
  • What amount of counter space is ideal? If you require additional counter space, will the current bathroom footprint allow it or do you need to find additional space?
  • Shower, bath or both? Do you want an enlarged shower with spa-like options? Will you sacrifice your tub for a larger shower or can your space fit both a shower and tub? Would a tub/shower combo make the most sense or will a tub inhibit mobility?
  • How much storage will you use? Do you have a nearby linen closet or do you rely on your bathroom for storing towels, toiletries, medication, makeup and cleaning supplies?
  • What lighting is ideal? Applying cosmetics and shaving require bright light while relaxing in a soaking tub calls for soft lighting. A layered lighting plan should address your different needs.
  • Aging in place? There are several universal design considerations to make for someone with limited mobility including safety bars, walk-in showers, wall-mounted sinks, wider doorways with paddle handles, and open floor space.

Our Bathroom Renovation Process

  • Initial consultation: Following a telephone conversation to determine if we’re the right fit for you, our remodeling contractors, located in Indian Trail, will visit your home for a free on-site bathroom remodel consultation. During this meeting, we review your needs, wants, and design preferences. We also share the historical budget ranges of similar projects and estimate the funds needed for your renovation
  • Design and feasibility process

: Once you’re ready to commit to a design, we get down to business at our second meeting by measuring and taking detailed photos of your existing bathroom and the surrounding spaces. Our Charlotte bathroom remodelers review your specific project goals once again to make sure we have all the right information, including style, finishes, and budgeting.

  • Plan review: For our third meeting, we schedule a plan review at our design studio to present two to three conceptual floor plans and 3D renderings. Our designers also provide “mood boards” displaying material samples that reflect your vision, conveying the level of quality you can expect while working with us. After narrowing down a specific plan, our dedicated staff finalizes a detailed set of drawings and in-depth, accurate pricing. Upon your approval, we sign an agreement to move forward with the project!
  • Selection and planning process: Our designers then guide you through the selection process by visiting our preferred vendors and their showrooms, finalizing the materials that will bring your project to life. Meanwhile, the production department handles permitting, ordering, and the scheduling of your bathroom remodeling project—whether in Charlotte, Matthews, Waxhaw, Ballantyne, or anywhere in between.
  • Pre-construction walk-through: After several in-house, pre-production meetings, we schedule an on-site pre-construction walk through with you approximately one week before the work begins. This allows us to review the logistics of the project and establish clear lines of communication to ensure the project is executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Construction begins: As our team of talented craftsmen and designers works on transforming your Charlotte bathroom, we keep you informed on schedule and scope adjustments while reviewing the progress of work through regular meetings with YOU, the client. Bathroom remodels are all about detail, so on-site walk-throughs to discuss material patterns and fixture placement are key to the success of your project.
  • Final walk-through: Upon completion, we conduct one last walk-through to ensure your complete satisfaction and a discussion of your next remodeling project down the road!
